MDB developed a web page to assist emergency responders during the January 2010 Haiti earthquake Exit Web site. It is housed on the Web site of the National Clearinghouse for Worker Safety and Health Training, which is part of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Worker Education and Training Program (WETP). The Web page provides background information, documents, and resources that address emergency preparedness during earthquakes.

MDB also translated into Haitian Creole the NIEHS Earthquake Response Training Tool: Protecting Yourself While Responding to Earthquakes (PDF) (104 pp, 4.6MB) | Haitian Creole Version (PDF) (104 pp, 4.5MB) Download the latest version of Adobe Reader Exit Web site. The booklet and accompanying presentation serve as awareness-level health and safety resources for "skilled support personnel" (SSP) who will participate in an earthquake response and cleanup. The tools help workers recognize what an earthquake is, the characteristics of an earthquake response, and how to identify and control hazards pertaining to the earthquake response and cleanup. Trainers may use this tool to aid in the development of an earthquake awareness-level course or other awareness-level materials (fact sheets, table-top activities, etc.).
