MDB assisted EPA in developing the structure and content of the Decentralized (Septic) Management Partnership Wiki, Exit Web site located on the EPA Web site. The wiki serves as a "one-stop shop" for all information about decentralized (a.k.a., septic or onsite) wastewater systems. It contains:

  • Background Information
  • News
  • Tools
  • Training
  • Technology
  • Guidance and Fact Sheets
  • Best Practices
  • Upcoming Events
  • State and Federal Program Information

After registration and EPA approval, wiki users can create or edit interlinked Web pages with a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. The wiki is hosted by EPA and maintained by MDB and the decentralized wastewater community, which includes representatives of the EPA Partnership (MOU) for Decentralized Wastewater Management. This MDB-supported partnership, developed in 2005 and renewed in 2008, comprises 14 organizations and the EPA; it facilitates cooperation, collaboration, consultation, coordination, and effective communication across the entire decentralized community.
