Program Management, Design, and Evaluation

MDB staff provides key support in the evaluation of environmental justice programs by conducting structured evaluations that result in valuable recommendations for program improvement. For example, MDB staff has experience in:

  • Developing environmental-justice performance measures for program offices in the EPA.
  • Assisting program offices, businesses, and industries in better addressing environmental-justice issues in their practices.
  • Supporting the EPA in better defining the six factors associated with the definition of disproportionate impacts.
  • Building coalitions between expert panelists, communities, organizations, and agencies to increase minority participation in environmental-justice issues.
  • Supporting the development of the Minority Worker Training Program at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ (NIEHS’s) Worker Education and Training Program (WETP).
  • Designing and implementing effective communication strategies for target audiences.
  • Facilitating and implementing the EPA’s Community Action for Renewed Environment (CARE) program in Savannah, GA.
